Religious Education

Parents have the responsibility to be the first teachers of their children. Parents need to ensure their children understand, at the appropriate level, the beliefs of our Religion, the concepts of right and wrong, and fundamental activities such as knowing how to make the sign of the cross, knowing basic prayers such as the Our Father and the Hail Mary, and being comfortable and attentive at Mass.

St Irene's Religious Education program supplements the parental teaching, and provides a more formal, more structured classroom environment to help our children become more acquainted with and more loving of our Lord.

Pan y Amor

St. Irene's Parish 2014-2015 Religious Education program for grades K-8 collected and donated school supplies for students at the Pan y Amor (Bread & Love) school in Managua, Nicaragua. To show their gratitude, the Pan y Amor students made the video below with the help of their visiting American teacher.

Thank you to our Religious Ed students for making a difference at Pan y Amor!
