St Irene's is a volunteer oriented parish. If you are interested in any of our ministries, and are willing to spend a few hours of your time supporting those ministries, please contact the Rectory and we will have someone provide you with more information about how your talents can serve others.
Our adult and high school parishioners might consider:
Membership in the Womens Club or the Knights of Columbus
The Welcoming Committee welcomes parishioners to help greet new parishioners and visitors to our church. The Hospitality Committee can always use helping hands to server refreshments after Mass or at special events.
The Caring Friends Ministry invites you to become a member of their coordinating committee, to send a card, make a meal, or drive a parishioner in need.
At Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter, our parishioners provide food baskets for those in need. The altar decoration commitee always ensures a beautiful environmnet for these special days. And of course, our lectors and musicians support the liturgy in a very special way.
At Christmas time, our parishioners share their wealth by providing gifts of clothing and other necessities, as well as toys for deserving children. Cards are placed on the parish "giving tree" near the church entrance. Parishioners donate the needed item, and leave it at the church entrance. We need staff to help with the wrapping and distribution of these gifts.
Our parish Library staff maintain a great selection of books for our youth, young adults, and adult parishioners in the parish library.
Our annual Mystery Night production is the result of the dedication of our actors and supporting staff.
Parish administration opportunities include serving on the Parish Pastoral Council (meets monthly), the Finance Committee (meets bi-monthly), the Building Use Committee (meets as scheduled), the Parish Child Health and Safety Committee (meets twice per year), and the Virtus Training program team.
Our Religious Ed team can always use additional teachers and substitute teachers, and volunteers to help with special classroon activities. To support programs for our young adults, the Confirmation and Peer Leadership programs require adult volunteers.
Our younger parishioners can also serve by:
Being an altar server (training provided)
Being in the Childrens Choir
Bringing the gifts to the altar during Mass
